Job Profile

The post-holder is employed by Isle Care Domiciliary Care, working within a defined geographical area.

She/He will respond flexibly to support the smooth running of the community services base. This will involve:

Key areas of responsibility

The post-holder will support compliance with the National Minimum Standards in their area by taking responsibility as follows:

  1. To deliver a range of care and support services to service users, responding flexibly as required in order to enable the consistent delivery of a high quality service.
  2. To provide on-call out of hours support to care staff outside normal office hours, and providing handover information to office staff at the end of the on-call shift. The on-call role may involve making arrangements to cope with situations that occur, such as:
    1. Arranging for staff on duty to take on uncovered visits.
    2. Visiting service users to deliver care & support.
    3. Contacting outside organisations in accordance with agreed procedures.
    4. Notifying the line manager and/or recording information in the on-call log.
  3. To carry out administrative and planning tasks as required in order to support the efficient running of the community services base.
  4. To support the management team of the community services base by carrying out tasks relating to the management and training of the team of Care & Support Workers. This may include:
    1. One-to-one staff review meetings and supervisions.
    2. Performance monitoring and review.
    3. Induction, training, coaching, mentoring and support of new staff.
    4. Leading or participating in the running of staff meetings.
  5. To ensure that service delivery is appropriate to service users’ needs, by setting up care and support packages, carrying out initial assessments and reviews, undertaking quality monitoring visits and handling complaints. To implement action points identified, where appropriate liaising with others or passing on relevant information.
  6. To develop partnerships with external organisations such as Housing Providers, Social Services and Supporting People. This will involve acting as an ambassador for the company and building effective working relationships.

Health and Safety

Under the provisions contained in the Health and Safety Act 1974, it is the duty of every employee:

Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme (POVA)

The post holder will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. All applicants will also be checked against the POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults). Such checks will continue to be made throughout the post-holder’s employment in line with statutory requirements.
