Reporting to: Operations Manager
Job Profile
- The post-holder will support the Operations Manager and to work as a member of a corporate team in developing training strategies for the Company taking into account its business objectives.
- To actively participate in the training provision and development opportunities for staff across the Company, ensuring the most effective use of resources and the appropriateness of delivery.
- To maintain productive liaison with other professional bodies which accredit HETS as a training provider, and involvement in the promotion and development of nationally recognised qualifications.
- To participate in the promotion, selling and delivery of training and other related activities, through HETS, which are available to external agencies and purchasers.
Principle Responsibilities:
Training and Development Policy/Strategy
- To provide advice and guidance to Managers on general training matters and assist with the development of corporate training strategies.
- To contribute to training and systems throughout the organisation to ensure a safe working environment for staff and compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- To participate in the development of a training strategy which clearly sets out the Company’s commitment to the provision of training for all staff and integrates organisational/business objectives and individual development needs.
- To advise the Company on relevant developments in training and their application.
Co-ordination of Resources
- To develop innovative, flexible and appropriate initiatives to meet the Company’s training needs and provide development opportunities for staff.
Evaluation and Control
- To monitor and evaluate outcomes of the training provided, liasing with service managers and making recommendations to the training team for variations to meet changing staff and service needs.
General
- Undertake the TDLB level 3 units, supported by the Training Management, with a target date for completion of one year from the date of appointment.
- Undertake personal training in order to carry out direct training and to support unit staff for Isle Care and HETS.
- As knowledge and skill levels increase, will be required to assist with other training related activities for Isle Care and HETS.
- To undertake any other duties relevant to the aims and objectives of the post.
This is a first level management position, the post-holder will be required to perform at all times at this level and respect the confidentiality of information to which they have access when undertaking their duties. Any issues of concern must be discussed with the Training Manager.
