Learning Disability Domiciliary Services
The watchwords of the Domiciliary Care support team are ‘independence’, ‘well being’ and ‘choice’, and we aim to provide support to people in their own homes.
The team operate Island wide and support adults with learning disabilities. Staff support clients on a one- to-one basis in the community and also work specifically in three ‘supported living’ homes on the Island .The highly motivated, experienced and qualified team aims to maximise quality of life for the clients it supports.
The team work to the Governments ‘Valuing People’ agenda and in close partnership with the local authority. The team prides itself on innovative and high quality work, built around person centered planning, integrated with the identified 6 keys stages leading to real citizenship for people with learning disabilities.
Supporting People
Some of the people Isle Care supports through its Learning Disability domiciliary care service live in supported homes. These homes are usually small and only have 3 or 4 people living in them, resembling normal multiple occupancy levels for shared living. The residents are usually registered tenants in their own right and many have part-time jobs or attend college in the local community. However, they still need a level of support and Isle Care provide a dedicated support team to the homes, and one to one assistance with daily tasks such as cooking, shopping and finances.
