About Isle Care

Isle Care was first established as a provider of care for older people and learning disability on the island in 1993. Isle Care was taken over by the Somerset Care group in 1997 and became a not for profit distribution company.

The four older persons homes are all very different in character but all have Investor in People status and are recognised on the island as one of the premier companies providing high quality care.

2007 represents 10 years of the Somerset Care Group’s involvement with Isle Care and over this time the company has gained in strength and reputation and provides over 140 places for older people.

Further dementia care facilities are being planned and Isle Care have invested in dementia care mapping training as an important tool in providing better quality care for its dementia residents.

The Learning Disability services range from a 12 bedded unit based in Shanklin, through to much smaller residential homes for 4 people. Isle Care provides services for over 70 clients. Some clients are able to live semi-independently within the safety of the residential settings while others with more complex and demanding needs have one-to-one support from an experienced team of care workers. All residents have an individualised support plan and key workers to ensure they receive the best possible support.

In addition to the residential care and support, we also provide domiciliary services which enable people with learning disabilities who are able to live in their own homes. Our clients receive support from a dedicated team of trained workers.
